I'm only MOSTLY dead
by Marty on Mon Aug 04, 2008 11:26 am

So, I guess I have been a little on the quiet side, lately. I guess it's time for an update.

Here's the latest in the world of GravyBoy -

Wowio goes Platinum
Wowio is back up and running. For anyone who may have missed it, Wowio was recently acquired by Platinum Studios , a publicly held company focused on comics-based media (moving comic book properties to film, etc.). You may have heard their name in conjunction with "The Comic Book Challenge" event that has coincided with the San Diego Comic-con for the last few years. GravyBoy fried Greg Robinson entered the comic contest a couple of years ago and made it to the San Diego pitch session and is back in the 2008 top 50 with his entry Tick Tock Vagabonds

5 is coming
Brian, as you have heard, is wrapping up some of his other fairly exciting projects and will be back on the Gravy train before too long.

GravyBoy spams the Phillipines
I have a tracker set up with Google Alerts to send me notification when GravyBoy appears somewhere new on the net.

Today, I was alerted that "GravyBoy" posted two fairly nonsensical spammy-kind-of posts on the "Philippine Macintosh Users Group" with a heading indicating that the writer was looking for "owners of bakeries? catering? restaurants?"

As any long-time reader will tell you, GravyBoy is not about the food, so there is obviously a Philbert-impersonator out there spamming the "Phillipino Friends of Steve Jobs" and expressing great interest in "Not necessarily big bakeshops like goldilocks or red ribbon"

That's all the news that's fit to cyber-print at the moment. Back soon with the latest.
Updates
by brian on Wed Jul 30, 2008 4:22 pm

I know, it's been a while since any GravyBoy news or posts or anything has been here. I'm still finishing up a few paying project (one of which has taken 6 months, so thats part of the reason.) I'm also doing more Marvel Masterpieces sketch cards for Upper Deck.

Maybe soon Marty will post something here too.
Wizard World Chicago!
by brian on Wed Jun 25, 2008 6:57 pm

Okay, I'm finishing up the packing for Chicago. I'll have volume 1 of my art book available. Full color, and for the affordable price of $15.

I'll also have prints and will be doing commissions all weekend.

My table # is 4508.

See ya there!
Mid-con update
by brian on Sat Jun 14, 2008 7:22 pm

I'm sitting in the hotel after a busy Saturday at Adventure Con in Knoxville TN. So far the show has been great. Seems to be very well organized and attended. I did see a jedi in the bathroom and resisted the urge to ask him to move in hand in front of the motion-activated paper towel dispenser.
Commission rates at Adventure Con
by brian on Wed Jun 11, 2008 7:17 pm

Friday, Adventure Con. Be there. I will.

I'll be doing full color commissions on 9 X 12 Board for $50 each.

I'll also have some prints and GravyBoy comics as well.

Or just stop by and chat.
Finishing up a project, and a con on the way.
I'm working on it...really...
